Lauren Bilanko lives in Williamsburg, Brooklyn.

She graduated with a BFA in Photography from the University of Illinois, Urbana/Champaign.

Fascinated by early film techniques like the Zoetrope, Lauren's work often emphasizes a narrative element.

When she is not taking pictures she loves to travel, cook, and garden.

Lauren photo assisted Bruce Wolf, who hired her when she first moved to New York and treated her like family; Olugbenro Ogunsemore, a great friend who brought her all over the world to shoot amazing athletes and premier celebrities; and Mikako Koyama, who taught Lauren how to see the most minute details of every image.

Lauren spent two years as the Full-time First Assistant to Howard Schatz.

Lauren also worked as a freelance assistant to Jorg Badura, Hans Gissinger, Rolf Gobits, and Kenneth Willardt.
